The World is ON FIRE
Hi Brainiacs, this is a mental health check-in. We know there’s a lot going on in the world right now but we just want to remind you to take time for yourself. It is okay to not pay attention to all the disasters and trauma happening in every direction.
Below are some important tips and tricks to keep your mind right during this testing time.
Compassion: Be kind to yourself
Stop thinking that you have to care about everything. It doesn’t make you a bad person to not put everything into every tragedy that appears.
Self-Care: Rest and Take a Break
Log off of all your social media if it is necessary for you to escape from these situations.
Additionally, log onto your social media and follow people that make you laugh and relax. It’s okay to feel joy while others may be hurting.
Action: Do what you can to help
Do NOT overwhelm yourself. Only take on tasks that you can accomplish to the best of your abilities and don’t worry about the rest.
Support: Get some help
Its not necessary to carry the weight of the world on your mind. Seek some professionals to talk to.
If you are averse to seeing a therapist or lacking the funds, see if one of your friends would like to talk about it with you. DO NOT trauma dump on your friend but a healthy discussion never hurts.
BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK: do not let negative individuals into your mental circle
Whether it’s social media or in your real life, distance yourself from people with bad point of views.
People who draw comparisons to responses to tragedy lack a lot of compassion. A tragedy is sad and should never be compared. All of them cause endless pain for all individuals and it’s never a competition.
