#Givemas - List of Reputable Charities To Donate To This Christmas
2020 has been an extremely challenging year mentally, not to mention financially. We understand that some of our readers have faced financial tribulation, some of us have been fortunate enough to remain employed. If you have the ability to bless those around us in need, please do.
Especially during this season of giving, we have decided to suggest a list of charities and non-profits that you can donate to both local and national. We have linked each charity and hope that you can find it in your heart to donate to one of these lovely organizations.
If you have a non-profit organization or know of a non-profit that needs some shine this Christmas, let us know and we will add them to the list.
Black-Led Grassroot Organizations
FairFight: Led by Stacey Abrahms in a pursuit to end poor election management and systematic voter suppression in Georgia.
S.O.U.L. Sisters: Empowers girls, femmes and TGNC youth of color to interrupt cycles of state violence, poverty, and oppression.
UndocuBlack: Intended to ‘blackify’ the undocumented immigrant narrative in the U.S. and facilitate access to resources for the Black undocumented community.
National Organizations
USPS Operation Santa: Look through letters and adopt ones you love. Find the perfect gift, and keep it anonymous—it's from Santa, after all. Today is the last day to participate in this Operation! 12/19.
Adopt a Child or Family For Christmas: Provides different opportunities to sponsor a child or family.
Prison Fellowship Organization: Focuses on advocating for justice for prisoners and they provide a pathway to restore relationships with prisoners and their families. (another way to donate to this organization)
Sister Love, Inc: Aim to eradicate the adverse impact of HIV, sexual and reproductive health rights and justice challenges impacting women and their families through education, prevention, support, research and human rights advocacy in the United States and around the world.
Dress for Success: Empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
