In life, we die many deaths.

Good Morning Brainiacs,

Long time no see.

LOL. I feel like most posts begin this way these days. I can only speak for myself but I know that the inspiration well has dried up in my old age but I’m hopeful that I’ll return to a place where I can express myself again.

Well, let’s cut to the chase. This morning, I was having a standard bestie check-in, with the one and only Jobina (@littlebrownbirdie). She is a prolific writer and artist in her own right, but she mentioned something today that sparked my inspiration to blog for the first time, in a long time.

“In life, we die many deaths.”

Eye opening statement for me. I too have died many deaths and will die some more. And even that reminds me of the adage that says we must die daily in Christ.

I am not the same girl I was yesterday. 2022 Akayla would eat 2017 Akayla alive for the actions that she subjected herself to. And between you and me, I’m glad that the old Akayla’s are dead.

Not all deaths are painless, some require extreme duress, akin to a trial by fire. But the fire is truly restorative.  All fine precious metals should be treated by fire.  Purified in death and restored in a new life.

I know if you’re not a pontificating smartie pants like myself these concepts may seem foreign and too large to grasp.

You are not one static being. You are the amalgamation of every experience, feeling, and thought you’ve ever had. Consistently evolving to adapt to the reality in which we inhabit.

Today, I would just want to leave with you that you may be in the process of “dying your painful death”, whether that be a relationship ending, consistent disappointment, or painful redirection.  People don’t die forever, it ends eventually, and then new life begins. Hold on for your new life.

Easier said than done, but I believe in you.

Love,

Today’s Akayla (@mrackee)
