Sunday Sun-Beams: Weekly 5 Minute Devotional
Sunday Sun Beams is a 5 minute weekly devotional that we’re implementing, just to make more time in our lives (and yours) for spiritual reflection. We give so much of our time to everything and everyone else, so it is more than reasonable that we can spend 5 minutes of our day focusing all our energy on connecting more with God.
Today’s Topic: Wisdom
Scripture: Proverbs | Chapter 2 | Verses: 1 - 10 (NIV)

My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2
turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
3
indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4
and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5
then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
6
For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7
He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8
for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
9
Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path.
10
For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
What To Take Away:
Wisdom is one of the most important qualities to have. It is a perfect combination of emotional and rational thought. Oftentimes, in our lives we make decisions off emotion alone and that does not always produce the best outcome. God rewards those who seek wisdom from Him. God is all-knowing and omnipresent. There is nothing that God does not know and when God makes decisions He can see the entirety of a situation. Past, Present and Future.
Prayer:
God please grant me your wisdom and the ability to be wise in my decision making. Grant me wisdom at my workplace, in my schooling, in my financial planning, and in my relationships. Please fortify my mind and allow me to choose the best paths for me.
